Department of Finance

Our department was first established in 1993 under the name Banking Insurance Division but be renamed the Department of Finance in response to a growing free financial market and rapid industrial and business development. Later on, it was officially named as Department of Finance on Aug 1st, 2003 since the school changed its education system into national university. Our department offers undergraduate programs and is dedicated to supply the society with financial management specialists with strong professional ethics, devoted intellectual and customer-oriented concept.

To enhance students' deeper understanding of the course of Finance and ensure they are capable of serving financial sectors at various levels best, we have designed relevant courses like Business Financial Decision-making, Investment Management, Financial Institutions and Markets, and Insurance.

 

Business Financial Decision-making ：
This course focuses on how businesses should invest, finance and make vital decisions regarding stock profits. Major study methods put emphasis on basic financial theory learning, case study and newspaper reading and encourage students to apply theory with real world.
Investment Management ：
This course is designed to help students learn how to invest their own money, decide on structure of investment portfolio through overall financial analysis, business analysis and individual enterprises financial analysis, and facilitate the management of investment portfolios through derivative financial products.
Financial Institutions and Markets：
It is extremely important to know operational procedure, relevant laws and regulations and future developments of financial markets since almost all financial transactions take place in either financial institutions or markets. This course will include study of monetary banking, financial institutions and markets, and international financial markets….etc.
Insurance ：
Head of investment department for insurance companies must be proficient with finance and insurance. A solid foundation of Statistics and Insurance Financial Management can lead students to related jobs. This course aims to provide insurance industries with insurance financial specialists by increases classes of insurance finance.
 

Our students will have a broad spectrum of job opportunities including investment agents, financial institution staff, insurance brokers, business financial managers and controllers. For those who will like to continue their education, the affiliate research institutes of domestic management study is the main channel. Since most finance certificates are key to better jobs for finance graduates, we have integrated some key items from CFA test into our daily courses and textbooks to make our students more competitive. It is also worth mentioning that students graduating from our four-year program are equipped with the ability to participate the test. Our department is devoted to offer consultancy and direction according to students' respective career interest.
